Can honey be a healing remedy? Well who would you go to ask such a question to? Maybe my dad, yeah I said my Dad.
The other day I called my dad, I forget why, but I remember he said “Raquel I’m in an interview right now, I’ll call you back later”. When he said interview I thought it meant he was interviewing a med-student, who was considering residency at the hospital my dad works at, Flushing Hospital Medical Center.
When he called me back later he said he was doing an interview for CBS channel 2, for a way he treats wound care. From what I know it was a honey based treatment that could help heal patients, who are having trouble with other healing methods. My dad, Dr. Cantu and a wound care nurse were interviewed.
So today I checked this interview out on channel 2 CBS. They honey has some healing properties that can help with hard to heal skin wounds. Another woman was interviewed; she has had breast cancer and a mastectomy. The honey treatment has helped heal her staft infection; she also had another infection from antibiotics. She was left with a bigger wound that would not heal from normal treatment. Her wound is now healing by a honey based wound dressing that is 95% honey. My dad explains how the honey treatment works and how the bee’s produce hydrogen peroxide. This honey treatment has helped rapidly heal bigger cavities. A little joke, the patients should stay away from bees! Learn more about this honey based treatment by watching the video.
