So the past two Stanley Cup Playoff semi final games for the Rangers vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are the second seed in the bracket, have not been so beneficial to New York.
Let’s recap the first game of Round 2 in the playoffs. Final score was 5 Penguins 4 Rangers. Now the game was tied, until Straka on the Rangers gave the Penguins a power play due to a penalty. Than later the Penguins got a goal from that power play what a disappointment. In the last minute or so it looked like the Rangers almost had a goal when they shot twice, once hit the goal bar, but not going in, and my heart was racing at the time. You would of thought though that the game was going to go into overtime but the Penguins player Malkin scored a goal that even was reviewed by the referees.
Now game 2 of Round 2, was a close call game as well, it was 1 Penguins to 0 Rangers for most of the game. Until the Rangers decided to play 6 on the ice, and take out the goalie in the last few minutes. This is a risky play, but every team does it to dominant the ice and try to get in one last goal. Well this didn’t help the Ranger’s too much instead it gave Pittsburgh a chance to score. Leaving the game with a score of 2 to 0, Penguins taking game 2 of the 7 game series!
